The bomb scare in the Government Building turned out to be false and the functionaries returned to work, the Prime Minister’s spokeswoman Veronica Gerbovetski stated, quoted by IPN.

The bomb squad that searched the building found no explosives. “The operation lasted for over an hour and the police announced that no explosive substances were identified as a result of it,” said Veronica Gerbovetski.

The police evacuated the people from the Government Building after a man threatened that he will blow it up. The man phoned the police and said in Russian that if a ticket for the Chisinau cable railway, which hasn’t worked for tens of years, does not cost 0.75 lei, he will blow up the Government Building.

The man faces a fine of 10,000 lei or up to two years in jail.
