The persons who will travel by public units of transport in Chisinau without tickets will be fined 50 lei to 200 lei. The City Council approved the regulations concerning the punishment of passengers traveling without tickets in public units of transport, Info-Prim Neo reports. The regulations have been formulated in accordance with the Code of Administrative Offences of Moldova and define the obligatory norms concerning the behavior, obligations and responsibilities of the travelers. The persons traveling without the required documents such as tickets, season tickets, student cards, permits allowing to travel free of charge and others, who will agree to pay the fine on the spot will pay 50 lei and there will be drawn up no report. If the traveler chooses to pay the fine within 72 hours, the fine will be 75 lei and will be paid at the pay offices of the carrier whose representatives drew up the report. If the fine is not paid within 72 hours, it will rise to 200 lei. In this case, the report is sent to court, which fixes a fine of up to 200 lei. If the person refuses to pay the fine, a report is written and sent to court, which also fixes a fine of up to 200 lei The new penalties will begin to apply from January 1, 2010.
