The first five candidates for the post of mayor of Chisinau municipality, who submitted the documents for being registered as contenders on April 4, learned what place they will preliminarily occupy on the ballot as a result of a draw, IPN reports.
The list of candidates on the ballot will be headed by the chairman of the Party “Democracy at Home” Vasile Costiuc. This is followed by the common PPPDA-PAS candidate Andrei Nastase, the candidate of the Party “Our Home – Moldova” Alexandr Roshko and the Shor Party’s candidate Reghina Apostolova. The Liberal Party’s candidate Valeriu Munteanu, who filed the first the required documents to the Chisinau Municipal District Electoral Council, will be the fifth on the ballot.
Also today, independents Sergiu Tofilat and Maia Laguta went to the Council to ask for the subscription lists. They have to collect by at least 10,000 signatures in their support.
The Chisinau Municipal District Electoral Council has seven days to check the documents and take a decision as to the candidates’ registration. Applications can be filed until April 19.
