First musical in Moldova to be presented this weekend

The first musical in Moldova titled The Gates will be staged this weekend at the National Palace, Info-Prim Neo reports. “I want to invite the spectators to see a young and very talented team that put up this musical. Many make their debut in this genre,” the musical’s director Alexandru Vasilache said in a news conference. Composer Ghenadie Ciobanu said the idea of the project appeared several years ago and it has an actual team for Moldova – migration. The play relates two stories united in the drama of a family – the leaving of the mother to a country and of the daughter to another. The name The Gates represents the difference between the worlds from behind the gates. The team expressed readiness to export the pop-rock musical. One of the texts in Russian is being prepared. Another text will be in Italian. The play also involves dancers of the National Opera House. The main roles are played by Boris Covali, Victoria Evtodienko, Irina Covali, Valeriu Caradja, Nicu Tarana, Andrei Raetski, and Chirill Oarza. The text was written by Radmila Popovich-Paraschiv. The choreography is by Dumitru Tanmosan, scene painting – by master of art Iurie Matei, while costumes - by Ludmila Furdui. The musical will be presented on October 30 and 31, starting at 19.00. Tickets costs between 100 and 300 lei.
