First-year students of a number of Chisinau universities were given by a Student Guide on September 14. The book launch event was organized by the National Council of Student Organizations and the Ministry of Youth and Sport, Info-Prim Neo reports. The book contains a lot of useful information about every institution of higher education, including the organizational structure of the faculties and libraries, the map of the dorms, the rules of conduct in the university and dormitory, etc. During the event, Anatol Alexei, head of the National Council of Student Organizations of Moldova, said the guide can be used throughout the period of studies. “This book is a product of two elements – material and intellectual. The intellectual element is us, the members of the student organizations and the team that compiled the guide, while the material side was ensured by the Ministry of Youth and Sport and we thank it for its contribution,” he said. Attending the event, Minister of Youth and Sport Ion Cebanu said he liked the way the guide looked. “I’m glad that together we managed to implement a part of the youth policy and carry out such an activity,” he stated. He also said he will demand that the students, especially those living in dorms, should enjoy more freedom as to when they can enter the dormitory and go out. The students attending the launch said they approve of the idea of publishing such a guide. Besides the given guide, there are student guides for eight universities. Similar books will be produced in the future for universities located outside Chisinau. About 200,000 lei was spent on printing over 15,500 copies of the guide.
