The Supreme Council of Magistrates allowed taking legal action against five judges of the Chisinau Appeals Court. The judges are suspected of consciously passing illegal judgments, IPN reports.

The Prosecutor General’s Office said that in 2014 the judges rejected a woman’s appeal concerning the deprivation of her child’s father of parental rights, upholding the decision of the first court. In the justification, the judges indicated contradictory data, saying yet that the woman’s appeal was accepted.

Afterward, after the plaintiff’s representative detected the illegalities committed by the judges of the Chisinau Appeals Court, a new panel of judges was constituted, which last November, in the absences of the sides and without citing them, changed the previous decision, passing a diametrically opposed one. The given decision was annulled by the Supreme Court of Justice as it was issued in breach of the law.

The judges who will be investigated are: Marina Anton, Nina Traciuc, Mihai Ciugureanu, Iurie Cotruta, and Ion Secrieru.
