FMF to elect its leadership in early February

The executive committee of the Moldovan Football Federation (FMF) set the date of its next congress for 3 February 2013, when it will elect its leadership, Info-Prim Neo reports. Former footballer and current deputy chairman Radu Rebeja and current head of the federation Pavel Cebanu have already announced their intention to run for the top office and the electoral campaign has been underway for several weeks. Pavel Cebanu has been chairman of the FMF since 1997 and will run for the 5th term, while for Radu Rebeja this is the first attempt to become head of the Moldovan football body. Before Pavel Ciobanu, the position had been held by Grigore Cusnir, Petru Comendant and Constantin Tampiza. Pavel Cebanu was elected on February 1, 1997, and then reelected in 2001, 2005 and 2009. The FMF chairman is elected for a 4-year term.
