Persons released from jail will be helped to find work and will receive a lump sum equal to 75% of the official average salary. This is provided in a bill concerning the social adaptation of former prisoners that was passed by Parliament in the final reading, IPN reports.

The persons released from prison repeatedly will also benefit from a lump sum, but it will be equal to the minimum subsistence level for the previous year.

The law stipulates that the Probation Office will be renamed Probation Service, which will coordinate the activities aimed at helping the former convicts to reintegrate into society.

There will be created a National Council for coordinating activities for reintegrating the persons set free from detention places, which will help the former detainees to adjust themselves to the new conditions and to find a job.

The law also imposes responsibilities on the local authorities, which will have to provide the persons released from jail with a place to stay.
