The National Citizenship Authority in February and March this year will organize four ceremonies to take an oath of allegiance to Romania dedicated to Romania’s Embassy in Chisinau and the two Consulates General, in Bălți and Cahul. In this connection, the Embassy of Romania in Chisinau provided details about the process, IPN reports.

The oath at the headquarters of the National Citizenship Authority can be taken by persons who applied to regain the Romanian nationality by maintaining the domicile abroad and later opted for a domicile in Romania and also by persons who want to maintain the domicile abroad, but intend to take the oath in Bucharest.

The online applications for taking the oath will be dealt with by the Consular Section by obeying the chronological order of the application submission day, within the limit of the available places. The date and hour of the appointment will be later transmitted automatically by the system to the email address used to create the user account on www.econsulat.ro.

The conditions of entering Romania can be seen on https://chisinau.mae.ro/local-news/1972. The Embassy of Romania noted the General Border Police Inspectorate is the only authority that can authorize entry into Romania. Given the pandemic, access to the Consular Section will be allowed only with face masks and by maintaining physical distance, in the absence of symptoms associated with COVID-19.
