The employees of three enterprises, the personnel of a Chisinau supermarket and the visitors of this shop can take part in a free diabetes screening on November 14. The event is staged by the National Health Insurance Company (CNAS) in cooperation with the Public Health Center of Chisinau municipality, IPN reports.
The employees of SA “Franzeluta”, “Vitanta” and “Bucuria” will be able to have their glucose level in blood and blood pressure measured. Blood sugar testing will be also available in Hypermarket No.1.
According to the CNAS, the event is aimed at sensitizing the participants to the need to monitor the level of glucose in blood in order to prevent diabetes and is held on World Diabetes Day whose theme this year is Healthy Living and Diabetes.
According to the National Health Management Center, there were almost 80,000 people suffering from diabetes in Moldova in 2013.
