For the first time this year, the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Nicolae Testemitanu” will admit students at the General Medical Assistance specialty, IPN reports.

The Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection said this became possible thanks to the support provided by the central public authorities and to the cooperator between the University and the School of Nursing of the Boston Institute of Health Professions and the School of Nursing of the University of North Carolina, the U.S.

“The introduction of the new specialty, of nursing, at university level is more than a necessity as the medical assistants in their work experience difficult situations whose management requires professionalism and competence,” said Boris Galca, Secretary General of State at the Ministry.

The studies at the new specialty will last for four years. Currently, only colleges provide training in nursing.
