The donors of organs who do not work will benefit from a mandatory health insurance policy for life. The Government will medically insure this category of people, who should be monitored by the Transplant Agency. A bill to this effect was passed by Parliament in the final reading on June 9, IPN reports.

Under the bill, the taking, conservation and transplantation of organs will be allowed only in public health facilities authorized by the Ministry of Health, while the taking, conservation and transplantation of tissues and cells will be possible in public and private health facilities authorized by the Ministry.

There will be made two orders, one on the authorization of tissue and/or cell banks and legal entities that take, transport, deliver and store tissues and cells and another one on the authorization of health facilities that transplant tissues and cells.

Currently, almost 900 citizens need organ transplants.
