Groups and singers from 11 countries to take part in “Martsishor” festival

The 49th International Music Festival “Martsishor” will bring together groups and singers from 11 countries. The festivity to open the festival that will last from March 1 to March 10 will be held within a classical music concert, IPN reports.

Minister of Culture Monica Babuc told a news conference that the festival performances will take place at the National Palace “Nicolae Sulac”, the National Philharmonic “Sergey Lunkevich”, the Organ Hall, and the National Opera Theater “Maria Biesu”.

On March 1, the National Place will host a performance that will involve soprano Valentina Nafornita, soprano Marina Putuntica, tenor Igor Turcan, soprano Mariana Bulicanu, panpipe player Stefan Negura, accordionist Vitalie Advahov, violinist Ionel Manciu, and prima ballet dancers Cristina and Alexei Terentiev. Among the foreign invitees are Australian tenor Michael Kleitman, the soloist of the Moscow Bolshoi Theater, and others.

The program of the festival includes recitals by the Romanian bands “Holograf” and “3 Sud Est”, the Bulgarian folk instruments orchestra “Teleradio”, and by the Classical Impressions Ensemble of China. The festival participants include artists from Estonia, Italy, Romania, the United States, Bulgaria, Israel, China, Georgia, Germany, Russia, and Australia.

The following groups will perform within the “Martsishor” festival:  the Choir “Doina” (March 2), the Chamber Choir of Tiraspol (March 5), the Folk Music Orchestras “Mugurel” and “Folclor”, the Jazz Orchestra of the Academy of Music, Theater and Plastic Arts (March 6), the National Academic Folk Dances Ensemble “Joc” (March 8), the Folk Music and Dances Ensemble “Fluieras” (March 8), the Ensemble “Concertino” (March 8),  the National Folk Music Orchestra “Lautarii” (March 10).

Performances of music will also be given in the districts Nisporeni, Balti, Soroca, Hancesti, Calarasi, Glodeni, Orhei, Straseni, Comrat, Taraclia, Rezina, Leova, and Tiraspol.
