The administrator of a municipal public catering company under the Chisinau City Hall is being investigated by the National Anticorruption Center (CNA) in a corruption case. The suspect allegedly demanded and received money systematically in exchange for selecting food suppliers for schools and kindergartens in Chisinau, IPN reports.
According to a press release from the CNA, these actions took place from 2023 to the present. In return for the alleged corruption scheme, the administrator reportedly favored certain economic agents when awarding contracts for food supply.
The CNA stated that during searches of the administrator's office and those of his accomplices, relevant objects and documents were seized.
The administrator is expected to be questioned as a suspect and will remain under investigation while at liberty.
