The Healthcare Ministry's proposal to raise salaries for the system's personnel as of July 1 hasn't been yet submitted to the Cabinet, as its still awaits approvals from the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Labor.
Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, Deputy Health Minister Viorel Soltan said that when adopted by the Cabinet, the decision could have a retroactive effect, meaning that salaries will be raised from July 1 as promised.
The proposal is to raise salaries for all healthcare personnel by 10% on average. Young doctors practicing in rural areas will receive yearly bonuses of 5,000 lei and bonuses for nurses will depend on category.
Earlier, the Ministry announced that salaries in the system would double by 2014. In three years, emergency doctors would earn 10,000 lei and emergency nurses 6,500 lei.
