President Igor Dodon invited Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia to pay a visit to Moldova so as to lay the foundation stone of a church that will be erected in Chisinau in honor of Venerable Sergius of Radonezh. The announcement was made by the President’s spokesman Ion Ceban on a social networking site, IPN reports.
The invitation was made in a meeting of Igor Dodon and Patriarch Kirill. Igor Dodon thanked the Patriarch for the moral support provided to him during the election campaign prior to to the presidential elections in Moldova. He assured that the Moldovan people will keep Orthodoxy.
