The leader of the Party of Socialists (PSRM) Igor Dodon made public his plans for the future Parliament, if it is validated, in the program “Politics” on TV 7 channel, IPN reports.
Dodon said that he already prepared a package of documents that can prove the necessity of invalidating the November 30 parliamentary elections and banks on the support of the diplomatic corps in this respect. “I will have a meeting with the Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova Pirrka Tapiola to discuss this problem. If pressure hadn’t been exerted by the diplomatic corps, the PSRM would have been removed from the electoral race,” he stated.
The leader of the PSRM also said that if the elections are yet validated, he will continue to fight. “The promises I made to the people will be fulfilled. In the first sitting of Parliament, I will demand annulling the Association Agreement with the EU. Afterwards, we will struggle for a referendum on joining the Customs Union to be held. If early elections are not announced, the pro-European collation will experience many troubles. We will be 26 MPs who will closely monitor any act of the government. They will not manage to act as earlier,” he stated.
Dodon also said that even if the PSRM is in opposition, they will anyway submit bills. One of the bills will provide for a 20% increase in pensions. The PSRM is for the election of Moldova’s President by the people and is ready to vote for amending the Constitution if this matter is put up for a referendum or is voted by Parliament.
The program was marked by harsh replies between Igor Dodon, political analyst Igor Botan and host Natalia Morari. Dodon accused the two, after they put him several inconvenient questions, of playing the game of Democrat Vlad Plahotniuc. This accusation angered the host, who warned Dodon that she will close his microphone. The leader of the PSRM replied to the host: “If you have questions, put them. I now have to deal with the people’s problems, not yours.”
