An initiative group was established to support Andrei Năstase for president of Moldova. In order to proceed with collecting signatures, the group has to register with the Central Electoral Commission first.
“We are joining forces again to take back our country, but this time to truly give it back to the Moldovans. I will be a president dedicated, above all, to our people and our country. I have full confidence in your support and I thank you for joining our campaign to collect signatures”, Andrei Năstase told the group at the launch event.
Once the application is submitted, the CEC has 3 days to check its procedural compliance and decide on the group’s registration. If successful, the group will go on to gather at least 15,000 and at most 25,000 signatures from at least half of the number of administrative units of second level. Once this is done, the candidate then may formally enter the race.
On Friday, the CEC announced the registration of the first four groups, the ones supporting Ion Chicu, Vasile Tarlev, Alexandr Stoianoglo, and Octavian Țîcu.
