Interior Ministry’s Policlinic opened after renovations

The Policlinic of the Ministry of the Interior and the medical rehabilitation and physical medicine office outfitted with modern medical equipment were inaugurated after renovations performed with the assistance of the Embassy of China in Moldova on October 13, IPN reports.

According to the head of the medical service of the Ministry of the Interior Andrei Uncuta, there were revamped the registration office, the stairs, corridors and therapeutic service. The Policlinic has ten family doctors and health professionals of all specialties.

Besides employees of the Ministry of the Interior, the Policlinic can be used by some categories of people on particular conditions. “Next year we plan to design social packages to also assist persons who live nearby. We intend to lay emphasis on prophylactic measures,” stated Andrei Uncuta.

Minister of the Interior Alexandru Jizdan said the Polyclinic is designed to help identify particular diseases at the incipient stage. “The life expectancy for police employees is 59 years and this bothers us a lot,” he stated.

Attending the event, China’s Ambassador to Moldova Zhang Yinghong expressed his confidence that the new medical equipment made available for doctors will improve the diagnostic and treatment conditions. He pleaded for maintaining the good cooperation relations.

The Policlinic of the Ministry of the Interior serves 23,000 persons, both employees and veterans of the Ministry and their families. The renovation works were executed in 2016 – 2017 with contributions from the Ministry of the Interior (12m lei) and the Embassy of China (449,000 lei).
