The Rascani Prosecutor’s Office of Chisinau ordered starting a criminal case into the cases of food poisoning at a restaurant situated in Posta Veche quarter. The criminal case was opened over the keeping, sale and provision of unsafe products and services that resulted in the death of a person, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué from the Prosecutor General’s Office, a prosecution group consisting of prosecutors and prosecution officers will be set up to quickly and objectively investigate the cases.
Under the Criminal Code, such an offense is punished with a fine of 16,000 to 20,000 lei and up to three years in jail. The punishment for legal entities is 100,000 to 160,000 lei , ban on carrying out a particular activity for a period of up to three years or liquidation of the legal entity.
