A Justice Palace has been inaugurated in Ceadir-Lunga. Its construction was funded by the Moldovan Government with 10.5 million lei. This is the only edifice of this kind fully built after Moldova’s independence, the Government press service informs, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
Attending the inauguration, Prime Minister Vlad Filat said that the Moldovan Government took upon itself all the expenses of erecting this building, although Moldova’s economy was harshly affected by the effects of the world economic crisis. “I’m glad we have finished the construction of the Justice Palace and made another steps towards the strengthening of the Moldova judiciary. It seems like yesterday I was visiting the building site and now it’s ready”, said Filat.
Minister of Justice Oleg Efrim stressed that the Ministry’s actions were meant to create a proper environment for judges to think only about their function and to relieve them from the pressure of interests not related to their job. He added that the justice reform strategy was in its final stage of development and would stipulate the revision of the courts locations. The Government will do its best to build new modern headquarters and a Justice Palace in Chisinau. Authorities also plan to raise the salaries of newly employed judges in order to reduce wage differences between magistrates.
Gagauzia Governor Mihail Formuzal began his speech in Romanian and highlighted the importance of building the Justice Palace for the inhabitants of Ceadir-Lunga. “We can see how a very important building has been raised through common efforts. I want to thank the Prime Minister for monitoring the construction of this and other edifices very strictly so that the works have been finished in time”, said Formuzal.
Alexandra Peni, chairwoman of Ceadir-Lunga Court, declared that the event wasn’t important only for those who would work in it, but for all the people in Ceadir-Lunga.
The Justice Palace in Ceadir-Lunga has six large assembly halls and many properly equipped bureaus. Its overall area is of 1700 square meters.
