The Liberal-Democrats won't take part in Parliament meetings unless the draft 2012 Budget and Fiscal Policy Law is adopted in the version it initially was submitted by the Government, stated MP Valeriu Strelet, the head of the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary faction, after a meeting of the Eurointegration Alliance Friday evening, Info-Prim Neo reports.
In reaction, the Democrats and the Liberals said the Lib-Dems were causing artificial tensions.
Strelet stated in particular that the indirect imposition component, which was what the other parliamentary factions wanted to eliminate, was an absolutely vital part of the 2012 Policy.
“I think that all this is because of the presidential election on December 16”, suggested Liberal leader Mihai Ghimpu.
Democratic Party president Marian Lupu also suggested that the Lib-Dems were using their vote for the Fiscal Policy as a condition for the presidential election. Lupu further stated that the Democrats were against the proposed indirect imposition because the mechanisms and the methods of enforcing this measure were unclear.
Besides the Democrats, the Liberal and the Communist members of the parliamentary Economy Commission also voted down the measure, which blocked the progress of the entire bill to the stage of debates in Parliament. It was proposed to review the bill next week.
