The parliamentary group of the Liberal Party (PL) remained without a member. Vlad Lupan, who was recently designated as Moldova’s Permanent Representative to the UN in New York, Friday renounced his seat of MP, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“I thank the Liberal Party for its support. Without this support, I think I wouldn’t have obtained the results I achieved. I thank all my colleagues in Parliament for cooperation. I wish you good luck and I hope that reason will prevail over emotions,” Vlad Lupan said after Parliament examined his resignation.
Within ten days, the Central Election Commission will examine the PL’s substitute candidate for the seat of MP. The Constitutional Court will validate the seat within 30 days of the day the post is declared vacant.
