Liberal Party MP Valeriu Munteanu suggests parliamentary groups should be formed no later than 10 days after the formal installation of Parliament, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The MP explains in the informative note of a motion submitted to this effect that since the declaration of Independence until today no independent candidate has cleared the electoral threshold to become a member of Parliament. Sometimes however, members of some political parties decide to change the configuration of the parliamentary structure by creating new political groups, which doesn’t correspond to the wish of the voters.
“The Machiavellian practices and the disregard for the people’s vote, who entrusted political parties to form parliamentary groups, will be eradicated. No more parliamentary groups will be allowed to be formed past the legal deadline”, says the MP.
In the 19th Parliament, several MPs defected their parliamentary groups. They include the former head of the PLDM group Mihai Godea, who has since become leader of the Democratic Action Party; former Communists Igor Dodon, Zinaida Greceanii and Veronica Abramciuc, who joined the Socialists’ Party, and former Communists Vadim Misin, Oleg Babenco and Tatiana Botnariuc. Recently, MP Ion Ceban left the Communists in favor of Igor Dodon’s group. At least 5 MPs are needed to establish a parliamentary group with formal status.
