Both the Liberal Party and the Liberal-Democratic Party could follow the example of their alliance colleagues the Liberal-Democrats and replace some of their Ministers, thinks political pundit Anatol Taranu.
Anatol Taranu says the replacements made by Vlad Filat, who recently substituted the Minister of Interior and the Minister of Education, were received with “barely perceptible approval” by the alliance colleagues and especially by the Democrats. The analyst believes that this party could be the first to follow suit, and the most likely candidate for replacement is Culture Minister Boris Focsa.
As concerns the Liberals, Anatol Taranu remarked that Liberal leader Mihai Ghimpu has repeatedly stated that he was satisfied with the work of the Ministers proposed by his party and that he had no intention of substituting them. However, the analyst says Mihai Ghimpu could change his mind, given his reputation of an impulsive politician.
Anatol Taranu went on to express his hope that the Liberals and the Democrats would follow the example of their alliance colleagues and review the work of their Ministers to improve the level of executive governance.
Taranu also noted that the freshly appointed Interior Minister Dorin Recean has already started to act and created some sort of “hurly burly” in the Ministry. At the same time, the analyst says the new Education Minister Maia Sandu hasn't come into prominence yet, “perhaps due to the vacation period”.
