Local authorities challenge appointment of new Termocom administrator

The Economic Court of Appeals named a new administrator at SA Termocom. Laura Turcan replaced Dionisie Antocel in this post. The heat suppliers’ director general and the mayor general of Chisinau challenge the method by which the new administrator was appointed, Info-Prim Neo reports. Deputy mayor Mihai Furtuna informed about the replacement of the administrator in the September 12 meeting of Chisinau City Hall officials. “The new administrator is the private company “Cusnir Laura” in the person of Laura Turcan. Under the law, the administrator is named by the company’s creditors, not the court,” said Mihai Furtuna. Termocom director general Mihail Cernei said the former administrator Dionisie Antocel was dismissed on the basis of his resignation. The Economic Court of Appeals’ decision dissatisfied Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca. He instructed the relevant subdivisions to appeal the decision. “The judges cannot take such decisions as this is the prerogative of the company’s creditors. SA Termocom has assets of millions of dollars and its employees cannot be named in a suspicious way by unknown persons,” he said. Among the creditors of SA Termocom are the thermoelectric power plants CET 1 and CET 2, SA Moldova-Gaz, SA Apa-Canal Chisinau, and the Ministry of Economy. Termocom was transferred back to the Chisinau Municipal Council from the Creditors Committee under a Supreme Court of Justice decision of March 4, 2010.
