A criminal case over deliberate murder was started in the case of the seven-year-old girl from Drochia district who was found dead after several days of searches. The 27-year-old suspect who was arrested by the police faces 15 to 20 years in jail or life imprisonment, IPN reports.
According to the General Police Inspectorate, the suspect is from Cubolta village of Sangerei district. He is a relative of the girl’s stepfather. When questioned by the police, the suspect said that on January 13 he saw the girl on the street, in the company of several friends of her. She offered her to accompany her home, but took her to a abandoned well, where he raped her, stabbed her and threw her into a well.
The suspect is held in the remand center in Drochia.
