The lists of dwellers with debts for public utilities could no longer be made public. The associations of dwellers will have to make these pay the debts by other methods, avoiding the disclosure of personal data. A decision to this effect was published in the March 31 number of the Official Gazette, IPN reports.

The National Center for Personal Data Protection established that the publication of such personal data as the name/surname, address and sums owed by the given persons is a serious violation of the basic right to respect for private and family life enshrined in Article 28 of the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova.

It is also banned posting lists with the initials of the dwellers and their addresses as the person can also be identified in such circumstances.

The housing stock managers are obliged to destroy the lists of persons with debts for public utilities and/or other payments posted until now.
