Third-party liability (TPL) insurance, which is a mandatory type of car insurance in Moldova, could be bought online. The MPs gave a final reading to and adopted amendments to the law on mandatory civil liability insurance for motor vehicles, the Contravention Code and the law on the prevention and combating of money laundering and terrorism financing, IPN reports.
The amendments are aimed at digitizing the process of issuing car insurance policies. The implementation of digital innovations will help develop online channels for the distribution of insurance services and reduce administrative costs for purchasing TPL insurance.
The bill removes the obligation to carry the registration certificate and annuls the fine for non-possession of this in physical format.
The law will take effect after it is published in the Official Gazette.
