MP Marina Tauber, who was to be the executive secretary of the Electoral Bloc “Victory – Pobeda”, said that the Central Election Commission’s decision to reject the registration of the bloc is political and represents an order “from above”. According to her, the government is trying at all costs to prevent the participation of Ilan Shor’s team in the presidential election and the referendum, IPN reports.

In a press conference, Marina Tauber said that at Saturday’s meeting of the CEC they were not invited, while at today’s meeting they did not show up intentionally “so as not to politicize” the examination of the issue.

The parliamentarian said the CEC invoked that the name of the electoral bloc coincides with the name of a constituent party. But it does not coincide fully. “Another reason is allegedly the transfer of image from Mr. Ilan Shor. I would like to ask Mr. Postica (CEC vice-chairman, editor’s note) if there is any prohibition for Mr. Ilan Shor to support a party or another party, a candidate or another?” Marina Tauber asked rhetorically.

“We certainly don’t stop here. We will appeal this decision to the Court of Appeals, according to all the existing legal procedures,” said Marina Tauber.

The Central Election Commission on Tuesday refused to register the Electoral Bloc “Victory – Pobeda” for participation in the constitutional referendum and the presidential election of October 20.

The bloc was to consist of the “Renaissance” Political Party, the “Alternative and Salvation Force of Moldova” Political Party, the “Chance” Political Party and the “Victory” Political Party.
