Mayors’ offices of Chisinau and Balti will also have local tax collection services

From next January, the mayors’ offices of Chisinau and Balti will also have local tax collection services, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a decision adopted by the Government on December 21. Minister of Finance Veaceslav Negruta said it is necessary to implement the fiscal administration decentralization principles, especially as regards the property tax (land and real estate tax) and other local taxes. The process started in 2000, when local tax collection services were instituted in the mayors’ offices of the country, except for those of Chisinau and Balti. The personnel of these services - 20 employees in Chisinau and eight in Balti – will include employees made redundant at the relevant local tax inspectorates.
