Singer Mihaela Chisnencu returned with a new achievement from Mamaia. This time she participated in the most important contest for youth in Romania “Mamaia 2012” and won the second place, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Six years ago, Mihaela Chisnenco won the Children’s Mamaia Festival Trophy and two years later, she won the second place in the Creation section with the song of late Anatol Roscovan and Grigore Vieru “Va iubesc si zbor” (“I love you and I fly”). This time, the 18 year old tried her luck in the contest for youth aged between 16 and 35. Moldova was also represented at this prestigious contest by Edict band and the Star Factory finalist Doina Ianculescu.
They also reached the final, but among the winners were only Mihaela, who took the 2nd place, and Edict band, who were handed the Special Award of Fantasio Foundation.
“It was a difficult contest because most of the competitors were under 30 years of age and boasted an impressive of record of awards. However, youth and talent were decisive and on the podium there were only singer aged between 16 and 22”, said Mihaela. “It was also difficult because of the lack of funds so that there were few awards, no honorary mentions and only 2-3 special awards in the sections Creation and Rock, where Edict participated”, added the singer.
During the years, many artists from Moldova competed in this contest, but only Natalia Barbu managed to win it in 1998. Now, Mihaela obtained another important result.
This year, the Trophy was won by Rodica Tudor from Ploiesti. Previous winners included Laura Stoica, Mihaela Runceanu, Monica Anghel, Paula Seling, Gabriel Cotabita, Pepe and other artists who became famous.
This was the 42nd edition of the Mamaia Festival. The Moldovan singers performed alongside Romania’s greatest voices Daniel Iordachiae, Adrian Romcescu, Adrian Daminescu, Aurelian Temisan, who participated in a recital dedicated to great singer and composer Aurelian Andreescu, author of songs like “Oameni”(“People”), “Copacul”(“The Tree”), “Tu esti primavar mea”(“You are my spring”) and others. In the second night of the festival, Paula Seling and Ovi delivered another exceptional recital.
