Folk singer Mihai Ciobanu launched his 18th CD titled “Lume, lume, cat de draga-mi esti” (“People, people, you are dear to me”). The CD contains 15 nostalgic as well as joyful songs . “The people are different and interesting. I has met only good people in my life. I want these songs to unite all the good people and make their lives better,” Mihai Ciobanu said at the launch, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
The singer said that every song from the CD is a part of his soul, but he has special feelings for two of the songs - “Childhood, you was so near” under verses written by Vasile Romanciuc, and “The most beautiful years of my life”, by Grigore Vieru. “All the years of my life have been beautiful as I'm a happy man. I have children, nephews and dear people and I do what I like,” the singer said.
Mihai Ciobanu also said that he wants to launch an album of waltzes and tangos. “I like walking along sinuous paths, but I take risks as I don't know where I will get to,” the singer said. He did not want to tell about his other plans, saying he was superstitious.
The songs were recorded on the CD together with the Orchestra of the Bothers Advahov. “It was easy to work with him. We grew up listening to the songs of Mihai Ciobanu and are now proud to be singing them,” said Vitalie Advahov.
Panpipe player Marin Gheras said Mihai Ciobanu is one of the most hardworking singers in Moldova, who chooses his repertoire minutely, while the launched CD is one of the best of his CDs.
Late in August, Mihai Ciobanu will launch a new CD in Toronto. “A violin, a song, a grief” will contain songs sung together with his son Mihaita, who works for a symphonic orchestra in Toronto.
