The Liberal Party head Mihai Ghimpu confessed that he remained without the driver’s license after he was caught speeding in Romania. He admitted to breaking the traffic rules in the program “In Profunzime” (“In Depth”) on Pro TV channel, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Liberal leader denied the press reports that he was traveling at a speed of 150 kilometers per hour through a settlement. According to him, he was indeed speeding, but outside the Romanian town Targu Frumos. “In what town one can travel by 150 kilometers per hour? Nonsense. I broke the rules outside Targu Frumos,” said Mhai Ghimpu. Under the Traffic Code of Romania, the legal speed limit in settlements is 50 km/h, on highways - 130 km/h, on the national European roads (E) - 100km/h, while on the others roads - 90 km/h.
