Mihai Severovan, independent candidate for the Chisinau Municipal Council, wants to create balance and to ensure efficient cooperation in the CMC. He says that the CMC has become an arena for disputes between parties and personal interests. At a news conference at Info-Prim Neo, Mihai Severovan said he wanted to work for the people regardless of their political preferences, nationality or religion. “The water pipes are for everyone, the heating system is for everyone, the public transport, the land administration, all the public services we should provide at high standards are for the people. We must work to provide these services and this is my interest”, said Mihai Severovan. According to the candidate, the city of Chisinau is facing numerous problems that need urgent solutions, including the expensive utility bills. Severovan thinks a project of reducing energy losses, estimated at up to 50%, is needed. The project is popular in neighbor and European countries, where it was implemented through public-private partnershipa of saving energy by insulating buildings. Severovan also spoke about the road infrastructure, stressing the need to attract European funds and investments for roads’ renovation, building new access ways and extending the road network in the capital and suburban areas. Severovan added that the city should return to the practice of washing streets at night and that building parking lots should be a priority. Another of Severovan’s goals is monitoring green spaces, cutting hazardous trees and replacing them with ecological ones. He also wants to have a spring named in the honor of Grigore Vieru. The other electoral promises of Mihai Severovan include a special project of renovating schools and kindergartens, offering subsidies of 2,000 lei for the birth of the first child and 3,000 lei for the second, reducing the price of heating, compensating up to 60% of the heating bills for needy families. Moreover, Severovan promises the reconstruction of the water treatment station and the renovation of old buildings that are a threat in the eventuality of earthquakes. He also promises to increase budget allotments to suburbs for developing the water and sewerage pipes and road networks, and to provide each community with the necessary transport. Mihai Severovan is 29th in the respective ballot paper.
