Military parade to be staged on Independence Day

Acting President Marian Lupu Wednesday issued a decree to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the proclamation of Moldova’s Independence. A military parade involving military units of the National Army and subdivisions of the Ministry of the Interior and the Border Guards Service will take place in the Great National Assembly Square on August 27, starting at 10.00, Info-Prim Neo reports The decree signed by the head of state says the two decades of independence confirm the establishment of the free and democratic Moldovan society for which dignity and the human rights and freedoms are supreme values. The Acting Presidents recommends the public authorities, companies, institutions and organizations, including the nongovernmental ones, to organize scientific, cultural and sporting events in order to popularize the Independence Day, educate the people to respect the state symbols and inform society about the role and importance of the state symbols. The Declaration of Independence was adopted by Parliament on August 27, 1991.
