"Minister Bolea continues his activities in the country's districts, maintaining direct dialogue with farmers and addressing their issues effectively." This is the response from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAIA) regarding the request from the Farmers' Force Association for the resignation of Minister Vladimir Bolea, IPN reports.
In a post on Facebook, the Ministry's Information and Media Communication Service states that it is not authorized to comment on the appointment or dismissal of ministers, as these are exclusive prerogatives of the Government.
In the same vein, the Ministry of Agriculture emphasizes that, over the past two years, it has demonstrated consistent attention to the needs of agricultural producers, anticipating their challenges and adopting proactive measures to support the sector. For cereal producers, measures were implemented to license cereal imports to protect the domestic market and ensure price stability. The Licensing Commission includes members of the Farmers' Force Association, and the commission's decisions have always been made public.
According to the Ministry, regarding subsidies per hectare, it was announced on the Ministry's platforms and in press statements that subsidies will be granted to sugar and vegetable producers starting in 2025, a decision justified by the added value these sectors bring to the national economy.
The Farmers' Force Association has requested, through a letter addressed to the Presidency, the Parliament, and the Government, the resignation of Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vladimir Bolea and the urgent adoption of effective measures to save the agricultural sector, which, according to the farmers, ensures the country's food security and provides hundreds of thousands of jobs in rural areas.
