State-of-the-art technologies designed to improve and optimize agricultural operations were displayed at Moldagrotech Spring 2024 exhibition that was staged at Moldexpo. Greater emphasis this year is placed on the digitalization of agriculture, with the presentation of the Smart Agri Arena - a space dedicated to digital solutions, applications and sophisticated technologies for precision agriculture, IPN reports.
Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Bolea, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry, stressed the vital importance of the exhibition for adjusting Moldovan agriculture in terms of technology and digitalization, at a time when Moldova prepares for accession to the European Union. “I firmly believe that by working together, alongside farmers, importers and distributors, we will be able to prepare our business environment for fierce competition in the Black Sea Basin region,” said the minister.
Carolina Novac, State Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, highlighted the importance of capitalizing on energy resources from agricultural biomass and residual waste, the opportunity of using these resources to strengthen the country’s energy security.
Moldagrotech Spring 2024 brought together over 60 economic agents from the Republic of Moldova, Austria, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Ukraine and Hungary. “The visitors of the exhibition, which we hope will be many, will see a good quality-to-cost ratio and will have what to choose from,” said Moldexpo interim director Zinaida Popa.
The exhibition includes an offer of agricultural machinery and equipment, modern technologies, solutions for intensive crop farming, fertilizers, plant protection products and seed material. Equipment presentations will take place during the four days of the exhibition, until March 16, providing a platform for the exchange of experience and knowledge between professionals.
