Moldova won at home the fifth match of Group 3 of the UEFA Futsal EURO 2026 qualifying competition against Slovakia 5-3, IPN reports.
Moldova’s Iulian Cojocaru scored a hat trick, while captain Cristian Obadă and Andrian Lașcu scored by a goal each.
"It is a hard-fought, fully deserved victory. We showed character, ambition and group unity against a very good team, that of Slovakia," Moldova manager Vladimir Vusatyi told the Moldovan Football Federation.
In the other group game, Poland defeated Turkey 6-0. Thus, it secured the first place in the qualifying competition for the final tournament.
Slovakia is now in second place, with 9 points, and the Republic of Moldova is in third place, with 6 points.
The Romanian team will play the last match of the current qualifying round on April 15, against the Turkish team.
