The official Chisinau will not grant the Russian authorities’ request to set up 25 polling places for the State Duma elections in the Transnistrian region, Prime Minister Vlad Filat told the reporters on Tuesday, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The official position will be announced by the Foreign Ministry. I can only anticipate that the request will not be granted and this is normal. Moldova cannot allow opening polling places there for the simple reason that it does not have control over the region,” said the Premier. He also said that polling places may be set up on the territory that is controlled by the Moldovan authorities. The legislative elections in Russia will take place on December 4.
