The first mobile laboratory for monitoring air quality, donated by Romania to the Environment Agency, was delivered to the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.
With the new equipment, the results are available in just one hour, compared to 24 hours previously. The laboratory can be moved to various places, ensuring monitoring on the spot. It is equipped with an alternative power source, which enables it to operate without interruption.
In addition, the laboratory is equipped with special vacuum cleaners for air sampling, which allow the measurement of concentrations of volatile organic compounds, such as benzene, toluene and ethylbenzene. Until now, these parameters could not be analyzed in existing automatic stations due to the lack of similar equipment.
This equipment ensures significant advance in air quality monitoring and environmental protection, said officials.
