Moldova down 4 positions in FIFA ranking

Moldova's national football team dropped four positions to 141st in the world FIFA ranking published on Wednesday. Last month Moldova traveled to Albania for a friendly, which ended in a goalless draw. This was Moldova's last preparatory match before they kick off their 2014 World Cup qualification on Friday when they take on England, who retain the third position in the FIFA ranking. The standing of Moldova's other qualification contestants changed in the world ranking: Ukraine rose to the 39th place, Montenegro to the 48th, and Poland slipped to 56th. San Marino remain at the bottom, on the 203rd slot. European and world champions Spain continue to lead the ranking, followed by Germany.
