Moldova dropped 12 spots in FIFA rankings

Moldova's national football team dropped 12 further places in the updated FIFA rankings released on Wednesday, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Tricolors now occupy the 135th spot with 229 points. The drop is attributed to a 0-2 defeat in a friendly with Georgia earlier this month. Moldova haven't occupied such a low position since May 1998, which is 14 slots away from their record low spot 149th registered in 1994. England, Moldova's most feared 2014 World Cup rival, moved up to 5th place. Montenegro slipped to 51st, Ukraine ranked 55th, Poland 66th, and San Marino remain on the bottom, 203rd place. Spain continue to lead the FIFA rankings, followed by the Netherlands and Germany.
