A digitalized system of advance information on air passengers will be implemented in Moldova. The Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Policy and European Integration has approved the advisory opinions for the conclusion of the state contract on the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the United Nations Office for the license of the goTravel AIR software solution, IPN reports.
The goTravel AIR software solution is fully prepared for connection to key services such as INTERPOL i24/7, PISCES, etc. Interoperability with these systems and other platforms already implemented by international partner authorities enhances the efficiency of cross-border cooperation. This integration capacity ensures optimal use of information at a global level, helping to prevent and combat illegal migration, transnational crime and other security threats, says Parliament's Directorate for Communication and Public Relations.
The goTravel AIR software solution will be used to implement the Advance Passenger Information (API) and Passenger Name Record (PNR) systems as a national priority in the context of the commitments undertaken in the context of EU accession.
The goTravel AIR software solution is currently being tested in 21 countries and operational in four others.
It will also implement a money laundering prevention software offered by the United Nations. The analytical information system goAML will assist in the fight against financial crime, including money laundering and terrorist financing, as an integrated intelligence analysis system.
The Prevention and Combating Money Laundering Service will be able to receive information from banks, as well as other reporting entities, on cash transactions, suspicious money laundering activities and transfers of more than 200 000 lei.
The documents are to be ratified by Parliament.
