The Government endorsed the candidacy of Valeriu Tihonov for the post of Moldova’s Ambassador to Qatar. A relevant decree is to be signed by the head of state, IPN reports.
Valeriu Tihonov is a career diplomat who graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations. Until recently he headed the staff of the minister of foreign affairs and European integration. He speaks English and Turkish.
The State of Qatar is situated on the northeastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula. Its sole land border is with Saudi Arabia to the south, with the rest of its territory is surrounded by the Persian Gulf.
By another Government decision, Gheorghe Rusu was dismissed from the post of vice director of the National Anticorruption Center because he reached retirement.
