The work of Prime Minister Iurie Leanca is considered good and very good by 42% of the respondents of the Sociopolitical Barometer produced by the Marketing and Polling Institute (IMAS). Another 42% of those surveyed said the Premier’s work is inappropriate. The poll was commissioned by IPN News Agency.

According to the survey, almost half of those polled are convinced that the government coalition, which voted Iurie Leanca in, will complete its mandate. 43% of the respondents consider that disputes will appear inside the coalition, as this spring. Thus, the coalition’s fate depends on the progress made on the path to European integration.

In a news conference at IPN, IMAS manager general Doru Petruti said that compared with the May barometer, the people’s perceptions about the state institutions didn’t change much. The church continues to be trusted by the largest part of the Moldovans – 76%. The mass media enjoy the trust of 54% of those polled.

The people also trust the banks and private companies (by 36%), Parliament (23%), the Government (22%) and justice (21%). The Prosecutor General’s Office comes last with 18%.

The survey was carried out between October 19 and November 11. It covered a sample of 1,126 people from 76 settlements. The margin of sampling error is 3%.
