Moldovans on wrecked Italian ship unhurt

None of the Moldovans who were on the sinking Italian ship suffered injuries, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a communiqué from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, seven Moldovans, one of whom a girl aged 14, were aboard the cruise liner Costa Concordia, which got caught on a sandbank near the Italian island Giglio (Toscana). Six of the Moldovans were registered as passengers, while a woman was a crew member. Three of the Moldovans, including the underage girl, were helped by the Italian authorities to return to Portugal, where they leave on a temporary basis. Another passenger returned to Moldova by plane on January 15, also assisted by the Italian authorities. According to the Ministry, the Embassy of Moldova in Italy and the Consulate General of Moldova in Bologna, in concert with the Italian authorities, will take all the necessary measures if the other three Moldovans seek support. Moldova’s embassies monitor attentively this incident and continue to check the lists of victims to identify other Moldovans among them if there are such.
