The nine MPs affiliated to fugitive politician Ilan Shor formed the parliamentary group “Victoria-Pobeda”. The announcement was made by Vasile Bolea at Thursday’s sitting of Parliament, IPN reports.

“Article 4 of the Parliament’s Rules of Procedure provides that, in order to promote common views and objectives, independent and non-affiliated MPs, who do not belong to any parliamentary group, can at any time form parliamentary groups consisting of at least five MPs. In this connection, I want to announce the creation of the parliamentary group “Victoria-Pobeda”, which consists of nine MPs,” said Vasile Bolea, who is also the chairman of the group. Regina Apostolova was appointed the groups’ deputy chairwoman, while Marina Tauber - secretary.

“Please take this report following the announcement and see what this misfortune is about from a legal point of view,” Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu said, addressing representatives of the Parliament’s legal division.

A number of politicians affiliated to the Shor group created on April 21 in Moscow the political bloc “Victory” (“Pobeda”), declaring that they want to unite the opposition against the current government and restore the relations with the Russian Federation and the Eurasian Economic Union. The event involved leaders and members of the Revival Party, Chance, the Alternative and Rescue Force of Moldova and of the former Shor Party, which was declared unconstitutional. The head of the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia Dmitry Constantinov and the Bashkan of Gagauzia Yevgenia Guțul also participated. Government representatives and also members of civil society described the action as “treason”, noting that these politicians must be held accountable.
