Ion Muruianu, Nicolae Timofti, and Serghei Furdui of the Supreme Court of Justice are the most corrupt judges in the Moldovan judiciary system, according to rankings compiled by the Anti-Mafia Movement. The list is headed by Mihai Poalelungi, who was chosen by the Supreme Council of Magistrates for the post of president of the Supreme Court of Justice, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“Mihai Poalelungi in this country owes something only to Vladimir Plahotniuc, to whom he provided services when he served as judge at the Centru Court, the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Justice. When Poalelungi had a health problem, Plahotniuc sent his personal plane to Strasbourg, which took him to Kiev. There Plahotniuc paid for the surgery undergone by Poalelungi,” the leader of the Anti-Mafia Movement Sergiu Mocanu told a news conference.
According to Mocanu, the Anti-Mafia Movement will present lists of the ‘mafia servants’ of Moldova. It started with the judges and will continue with prosecutors, police officers and officers of the Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime.
The lists will be approved at the congress of the executive bodies of the Anti-Mafia Movement. “The list of judges is compiled based on our subjective observations and the decisions quashed by the ECHR, under which Moldova lost millions of euros. A part of the judges were our ‘executioners’ in the trials. For example, Anatol Doga, who ranks 16th, issued five arrest warrants when I was arrested by Voronin. Afterward, the ECHR ruled that I wasn’t to blame and there were no reasons to arrest me,” said Sergiu Mocanu.
The blacklist of judges contains 44 names, including Nicolae Nogai of the Bender Court of Appeals, Aurel Kulenko of the Economic Court of Appeals, and Ion Plesca, president of the Chisinau Court of Appeals. “These are only some of the corrupt judges who serve the mafia in Moldova. They are rich and very rich, even if they have salaries of 4,000 to 6,000 lei a month. They made Moldovan people to suffer,” said the leader of the Anti-Mafia Movement.
Sergiu Mocanu also said that he will soon present evidence of the property owned by the judges included in the blacklist.
