The 2012-2013 season of the National Opera House “Maria Biesu” will end with the operetta “The Bat” by Johann Strauss, which will be premiered on June 20 and 23. Larisa Casap, head of the House’s artistic impresario section, has told IPN that this operetta was selected at the public’s request.
The operetta has elements of comedy, is sarcastic and with ironical aspects. Those from the National Opera House “Maria Biesu” said “The Bat” is probably the most popular operetta in many opera houses of the world.
Master of Arts Mihai Timofti will deal with the artistic side of the operetta that will be presented in Chisinau, while the music will be ensured by conductor Dumitru Carciumaru.
About 100 works were put on at the National Opera House this season, by 2-3 a week. The next season opens at the start of September with the Festival “Maria Biesu”.
